GABRIELA CAMPOS

In Memory of Truth
September 20 to November 9, 2008

CamposGabriela Campos’ poetically expressive art is a blend of realism and fantasy rooted in the artistic community of Oaxaca, Mexico. Over the past number of years, her preferred subject matter has been the tree—the eternal symbol of birth, life, and death—which is often integrated with images of women.

Campos’ watercolours, monoprints and etchings are thematic in their composition. She applies conceptual arrangements to portray an alchemical and interpretive exploration of the human condition in a sensual way: “Like a reporter who explores and exposes the core of events, I try to create images that give witness to our emotions and passions, fears and aspirations, successes and failures.”

CamposGabriela Campos, born in Los Mochis, Mexico, has been painting and printing professionally for twenty years and lives near Holstein.
