Paul Nielsen's Contemporary Landscapes is based on colour photographs the artist has been taking around Durham in the past two years.
"It is from long walks throughout the year that I noticed how the same places can become radically different from one time to another, whether the time of day or time of year. When walking I have noticed that some areas just stand out at that particular moment, and it is the quality of that moment that I have tried to capture."

Contemporary Landscapes is Nielsen's first exhibition as a photographer. He is also well known to the community as a musician and recent organizer of the Sing-out Café.
