Katherine Knight ~ Photo-based Workshop
Saturday, December 15, 2001, 2 - 6 January,  2002

This workshop is a professional development opportunity for photo-based artists, teachers and people who would like to deepen their knowledge of photography as an art form. The workshop will investigate how to communicate a message with a photographic image from different artistic angles and will look at the interaction of memory and image in photo-based practice. Participants are invited to bring up to three images related to an event that has meaning to them.
Fee: $20 for members / $25 for non-members
Katherine Knight is an assistant professor for photography at York University's Visual Arts Department. In 2000 she was the recipient of the Canada Council's Duke and Duchess of York Prize in Photography in recognition of the excellence of her work.

Katherine Knight ~ Aerostat
January,  2002

United Media Arts and the Durham Art Gallery jointly invited Toronto based artist Katherine Knight to be an artist-in-residence in Durham and exhibit recent work during December and January. During her one-month residency at United Media Arts in December, Katherine Knight will create a new body of work titled: Snow.
The Durham Art Gallery will exhibit Knight's work Aerostat, a portrait of air and wind, for the month of January, 2002.
